Falcons Now 19th in Associated Press Poll

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team is ranked 19th in the nation in the latest Associated Press Top-25 poll. The poll was released on Monday afternoon (Feb. 26).
The Falcons, ranked in the AP Top-25 for the 11th consecutive week, slipped one spot after being ranked 18th in each of the last three weeks. BGSU split a pair of games last week, winning an 89-66 decision at Kent State on Tuesday (Feb. 20) before seeing a number of lengthy winning streaks snapped in Saturday's (Feb. 24) home loss to Ohio, 70-67.
Several of BGSU's 2006-07 opponents are listed in the poll as well. Duke remains number one in the country, while Temple is 27th (second team among 'others receiving votes'). Delaware and Notre Dame also are receiving votes in the latest poll.
The Falcons, now 25-3 overall and 14-1 in Mid-American Conference play, host Miami University in the final regular-season game on Wednesday night (Feb. 28). That game will mark 'Senior Night' at Anderson Arena, as the Falcons' stellar senior class will be recognized in pre-game festivities which will begin at approximately 6:45 p.m. That BGSU senior class includes Amber Flynn, Julie Gompers, Liz Honegger, Carin Horne, Ali Mann and Megan Thorburn.
