Dunning Qualifies for NCAA Regionals!

TOLEDO, Ohio - Takarra Dunning qualified for NCAA Regionals while the BGSU Falcons took fifth out of seven teams today at the Rocket Team Challenge.
Dunning threw the shot put 48-08.00 to qualify for the NCAA Mid-East Regionals at the end of May. This distance passes her previous outdoor best in the event.
Other winners include Andi Bunko in the javelin and the 4x100-meter relay team of Jessica White, Nicole Standback, Ashley Spates and Shantell Lewis.
The Falcons made great strides in their first outing of the spring season. Bunko won the javelin with a throw of 136-6.00. The 4x100-meter relay team won in a time of 47.67 seconds.
Freshman pole-vaulter Sabrina Forstein finished second, jumping 10-06.00.
Besides Bunko and Dunning, there were several other Orange and Brown tracksters succeeding in the throws. Kylie Korsnack threw a four-foot career-best in the javelin, placing third with a throw of 114-00.00. Lauren Bryant finished fourth in the discus with a toss of 126-01.00. She also finished fifth in the shot with a throw of 42-06.00. Dunning also placed fifth in the hammer with a personal-record of 141-01.00 and fifth in the discus throwing 125-05.
Yemoja Marotta ran the 400-meters in a time of 59.78 seconds.
Erica Wilson and Amanda Sefcik went 4-5, respectively in the long jump. Wilson jumped 17-08.25 while Sefcik jumped 17-07.75. Wilson also tied for fifth in the triple jump, 36-07.50.
In the 200-meters, Ashley Spates represented the Falcons with a fifth place finish in a time of 26.86 seconds.
At Stanford...
In Palo Alto, Calif., Kim Settle and Jamie Roflow competed at the 33rd Annual Stanford Invite. Roflow finished the 5,000-meter in a time of 17:40.18 and Settle finished the 1,500-meter in a career-best 4:44.12.
Up Next... The Falcons will travel to Cincinnati to compete this Saturday.
