Bowling Green, Ohio - Junior college transfer Sinisa Vrvilo booted a 41-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Orange squad to a 16-14 victory over the White team in the annual Spring Game played this season at Bowling Green High School.
"It was a great way to end the game," said BGSU Coach Gregg Brandon. "I think that Sinisa and Nick (Iovinelli) were both impressive in the kicking game and that is why they are here."
Vrvilo booted three field goals as the winning team scored 16 unanswered points after falling behind 14-0 in the first 8:34 of the game. The transfer from Trinity Valley also nailed a 42 yarder at the end of the third quarter and a 31-yard effort just before halftime.
The White team jumped out early. On the second play of the game, redshirt freshman Calvin Marshall picked off a Tyler Sheehan pass and returned it 21 yards to the Orange five-yard line. One play later, junior Eric Ransom went untouched into the end zone for a 7-0 lead.
Later in the first quarter, redshirt freshman Anthony Glaud hit junior Marques Parks for a 29-yard pass to give the White the ball at the Orange 11-yard line. Glaud carried the next two times and scored from three-yards out with 6:26 left in the quarter to give his squad a 14-0 lead.
The Orange team would start out on their 49-yard line and drove to the White seven yard line when sophomore P.J. Mahone sacked Tyler Sheehan forcing Vrvilo's first field goal attempt.
In the second quarter, Diyral Briggs sacked Sheehan to set up a fourth and 17 from the White 32-yard line, but Sheehan and the Orange went for it and he found redshirt freshman Kelvin Davis for a 32-yard score to cut the lead to 14-10.
The second half was played with a running clock, but neither team could get into the end zone.

Post Game Quotes
Gregg Brandon
"It was a great day for a football, game. A great crowd and our band was awesome.
"Our kicking game was much improved."
"We still have a lot of positions up for grab and the guys need to use this summer to get better and compete for spots."
Corey Partridge
"It was a great day for the game. Everyone played their hearts out. It was nice that we came out on top, but we have a few turnovers and some things to work on."
Where would you say this team is at right now?
"I'm not going to make any predictions this year. I had a great feeling coming out of spring ball last year, and you saw what happened last season. We are just going to keep coming out and working to get better."
How do you feel about the quarterback situation?
"I like the quarterback competition. It makes everyone work with no one having a set spot. Everyone has to come out and work hard to get better and all three of them are doing a great job right now."
Sinisa Vrvillo
"I was ready for it the whole time. I'm happy that I made it."
How did you feel about your first spring game? "It took me a long time to get here, going to a junior college first and being from Europe originally I played soccer and did not even know about football. This was big for me right now."
Erique Dozier
How did you feel the defense played today?
"I feel the defense had an average day. The White defense made a few turnovers and made a few big stops.
Marques Parks
"I think the coaches put me in a good position. Coach Brandon talked to me about having a good spring. I have been just trying to work and do my role at any of the wide receiver positions."
