Falcons Announce 2007-08 Hockey Schedule

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University head coach Scott Paluch has announced the schedule for the 2007-08 hockey season this afternoon. Highlighting the slate are eight contests with teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament, including a pair with the 2006-07 national champion Michigan State Spartans (Feb. 29-Mar. 1).
Other notable contests include two home (Oct. 23 and Jan. 26) and two road contests (Nov. 20 and Jan. 25) with the CCHA regular season champion, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, a home-and-home with Michigan (Dec. 7-8), two home contests with Miami (Jan. 4-5) and a trip to Madison, Wisc., for the 2007 Badger Classic (Dec. 28-29), featuring BGSU, Colgate, Northeastern and Wisconsin, who won the national championship in the 2005-06 season.
The Falcons will host Windsor in an exhibition game on Oct. 12 to open the new campaign, and then hit the road on Oct. 19-20 to play at RIT and Niagara to begin the regular season.
Just a few short days later BGSU will host their regular season home opener on Tuesday, October 23, when they play Notre Dame.
BGSU will also play a home-and-home with Wayne State on Nov. 30-Dec. 1 to conclude their non-conference schedule.
Other home conference games will include Western Michigan (Nov. 3 and Jan. 18), Ferris State (Feb. 22-23), Northern Michigan (Nov. 16-17), Michigan (Dec. 8), Miami (Jan. 4-5), Notre Dame (Jan. 26), Alaska (Feb. 8-9) and Michigan State (Mar. 1).
The CCHA first and second round playoff match-ups begin on Mar. 7-9 and Mar. 14-16 at campus sites. Teams advance to "The Joe" beginning on Mar. 21-22, with the NCAA Tournament starting on Apr. 5-7.
