BOWIE, Md. (story courtesy Bowiebaysox.com) - Nolan Reimold cranked two homers and had a career-high six RBIs as the Baysox pounded Reading, 12-7, on Wednesday (Aug. 8) at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Reimold blasted a three-run homer in the fourth and launched another three-run shot, his sixth in the fifth. The 22-year-old right fielder singled in the seventh and doubled and scored in the ninth to cap his career night, falling just a triple shy of the cycle.
Reimold, who is hitting .333 on the season, had had only one homer in his last 19 games and had driven in one run in his last 10 games.
It was the fourth two-homer game of his career and his first since April 13, 2006. Reimold's previous career high for RBIs was five, which he achieved June 27, 2005, with Aberdeen. Reimold was the Orioles' second-round pick in the 2005 First Year Player Draft out of Bowling Green State University, and he hit .255 with 19 homers and 75 RBIs last season with Frederick of the Class A Advanced Carolina League.
Matt Cepicky ripped a two-run shot, his 15th, in the ninth and Gustavo Molina and Ruddy Yan chipped in three hits apiece for the Baysox (61-56).
Bowie starter Radhames Liz (10-4) allowed five runs on nine hits while striking out four and walking two over five innings to win his fifth straight decision.
Michael Costanzo smacked his Eastern League-leading 23rd homer, Joey Hammond blasted a two-run homer, his second, and Greg Jacobs went 3-for-4 for the Phillies (59-58).
Reading starter Joshua Outman surrendered seven runs -- six earned -- on seven hits and three walks while striking out five over five innings.
