BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (BGSUFalcons.com) - Each week, Bowling Green State University Assistant Vice President/Director of Athletics Greg Christopher answers a few of the many questions that have been submitted to BGSUFalcons.com. Here is the latest installment ...
Q: With football season about to start, how are season ticket sales going?
Bill in Toledo
A: Although we still have about three weeks until our first home game, ticket sales in general are meeting our expectations. Season ticket sales are just about where we finished last year, so by the time we kickoff against Temple we expect to be above the 2006 season ticket total. This is good news because building our base of season tickets is an important step for BGSU football. We still have a long way to go - last year's season ticket count was about 2,300. Group and single game sales are ongoing and we appreciate the tremendous support we are receiving from fans in the Bowling Green community and alumni everywhere.
Q: Will we get to host any playoff games at The Doyt later this fall?
Chris in Bowling Green
A: Now that we have FieldTurf, the opportunity to host high school playoff games exists and we have let the OHSAA know about our interest. Depending on the geography of teams, we hope to have the opportunity to host at least one playoff game in November. Reaction from our first two high school games at Perry Stadium has been positive; we look forward to making this a consistent part of our future scheduling.
