BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University head coach Keri Buff has announced the 2007-08 swimming and diving Falcons team competition schedule. The team will host three Mid-American Conference meets at Cooper Pool and will once again participate in the Ohio State Invitational in December.
Buff will head into her sixth season on September 22 as her team competes in the annual Falcon Biathlon and Alumni meet. The biathlon is scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. with the Alumni meet following at 10:00 a.m.
The team will then participate in an inter-squad pentathlon on October 12 followed by the Tom Stubbs Relays a week later. Both meets will be held at Cooper Pool inside the BGSU Recreation Center.
November will kick-off on the road with a pair of meets against defending MAC champion Eastern Michigan on Friday, November 2 and Ball State on Saturday.
One week later the Falcons are slated to return home for the weekend and will battle two more conference foes; Ohio on Friday and Miami on Saturday.
The squad will then take a three week break before competing in the Ohio State Invitational over the Nov. 30-Dec. 2 weekend. This will be the last tournament the team will compete in before the MAC Championships in February.
The New Year will get underway as the Falcon's travel to Akron to battle the Zips on January 19.
BGSU will honor their seniors on Jan. 25 as they host the Toledo Rockets in a MAC showdown at Cooper Pool for the final home meet of the season.
The regular season will end with a road meet in Buffalo, New York, against the Bulls, which is also the site of this year's MAC Championships.
In a field of eight competing schools, the Falcons finished sixth overall last season at the MAC Championships. In addition, 2006 graduate Caroline Keating and current junior Alisha Yee were honored as first team All-MAC selections last year.
