Falcons Take Fifth at Yestingsmeier

Final Results and Individual Score Cards
MUNCIE, Ind. - On the final day of the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational the Falcons combined for a score of 288 to finish fifth in the tournament (858).
Placing in a tie for third in the Invitational was senior Jace Walker. On the final day, Walker eagled the third hole, a 264 yard par-4, this marks the second time he has eagled this hole the last two years. Walker's final score of 208 (68-69-71) netted him a third straight top-5 finish this season. The 208 also matches the BGSU school record following 54 holes of action.
Matt Schneider finished the day with a score of 73 for a three round total of 214. Schneider birdied three times on Tuesday to finish out the invite. His score would leave him sitting in a tie for 12th place.
Trailing Schneider by one stroke was Andrew Ladwig. He sank five birdie putts to bring his three round birdie count to 11. Ladwig improved his score on the final day, cutting his score by one stroke and saddling him with a tie for 15th.
Sophomore John Powers wrapped up his final day with an improved 72. After shooting 78 and 74 on the first day, Powers sank three birdie putts to finish the day 2-over. His third round score moved him up 17 spots to a tie for 42nd place.
Finishing with a final score of 228 was Gavin Aldridge. At the turn, Aldridge was sitting even-par before recording a final score of 74, four strokes better than his second round of golf on Monday.
The Falcons were joined by individual competitor Russell Goodwin. After shooting a pair of 78's on the first day, Goodwin tallied an 82 on the way to a final score of 238 for the tournament.
The Falcons will take a break from action before they travel to Loveland, Ohio on Oct. 1 for the Xavier Invitational.
