BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - A few notes from the Bowling Green State University football team's 24-21 loss to Eastern Michigan University Saturday afternoon (Oct. 4) ...
* The Falcons still lead the series with Eastern Michigan, 23-11-1 ... EMU's win, however, snapped a nine-game series losing streak to BGSU ... the Hurons/Eagles last defeated the Brown and Orange on Oct. 21, 1989.
* The loss was BG's first in a MAC opener in eight years (a 27-21 loss to Akron on Oct. 7, 2000).
* Freshman Adrian Hodges had his first career reception in the third quarter ... he caught a pass from junior QB Tyler Sheehan and took it in for a 46-yard touchdown.
* Sheehan had nearly 300 yards through the air, completing almost 80 percent of his passes ... the Cincinnati native was 27-of-34, for 297 yards and two touchdowns ... he completed passes to 10 different players.
* In addition to Hodges, Jimmy Scheidler caught a TD pass from Sheehan ... Scheidler now has eight receptions for 60 yards this season ... four of those eight grabs have gone for TDs.
* RB Chris Bullock had four receptions for a career-high 53 yards vs. EMU ... Bullock caught screen passes of 18 yards (on third-and-15) and 22 yards (on third-and-23) on BGSU's first scoring drive of the game.
* Sheehan scored his third rushing TD of the season and the sixth of his career with 5:11 left in the fourth quarter ... that eight-yard run came two plays after he had connected with Jermiah Kelley on a 48-yard pass to the Eagles' 10-yard line.
* Three Falcon defenders hit double digits in tackles ... P.J. Mahone led the way with a career-high 14 stops, while John Haneline had 13 tackles and Erique Dozier 11.
