Women Place Fifth at MAC Championships

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's cross country team finished fifth out of 12 at the Mid-American Conference Championships, hosted by Eastern Michigan University. Five of the runners broke their own personal records and two ran their season best times.
Senior Kara Butler, junior Carly Wells, senior Kylie Korsnack, senior Lyndi Springer and junior Andrea Pereira de Almedia all broke their personal record times in the 5k. Senior Jamie Roflow and sophomore Ashley Fischer broke their season best times. Butler also was named to the women's first team at the MAC Championships.
The women were led by their strong seniors Kara Butler and Jamie Roflow. Butler finished seventh with a time of 17:24. Roflow was the next to finish for the Falcons placing 19th with a time of 17:54. The three other scorers for the women included Carly Wells, 21st (18:01), Kylie Korsnack, 48th (18:29) and Andrea Pereira de Almeida, 52nd (18:33). The last two runners for the women were Lyndi Springer, 58th (18:44) and Ashley Fischer, (18:59).
