Falcons Finish Seventh in Field of 40 at Paul Short
October 04, 2025 | General, Women's Cross Country
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – At one of the largest meets in the country, the Bowling Green women's cross country team finished seventh in the 6k in a field of 40 teams. Four athletes finished with PRs, and five finished in the top 70.
With 278 points, the Falcons seventh place finish was just behind Connecticut. BGSU finished ahead of Penn, Harvard, Pittsburgh and Yale.
The exceptional day at Paul Short was headlined by Senior Kylee Cubbison, who led all Falcons with a 20:26.4, a personal best and good for 29th in a field of over 300 runners. Twenty seconds later Rachael Hoover (20:48.3) and Rachael Withrow (20:48.9) finished in succession at 48th and 50th, respectively. Both Hoover and Withrow set new PRs, besting their old times by over a minute.
Shortly after, Regina Rose finished 53rd overall at 20:50.5, followed by Lexi Panning at 66th with a 20:59.4 mark.
Reese Reaman (21:36.1) finished 156th. Marissa Boone (21:51.4) finished 191st, outpacing her former 6k PR, which was set at Mel Brodt a month earlier, by over a minute.
Emma Hellwege finished the day at 22:14.2, and Nora Ritting at 22:51.9.
"The team accomplished its goals for the meet; you have to feel good about that. But the buy‐in and belief is really the bigger thing." Said Head Coach Lou Snelling, "Our ability to dream big and consistently pursue that over long periods of time is encouraging. That led us to a really nice day at Paul Short, to the big things we accomplished last spring, and what we will accomplish this year."
The Falcons will return to Bowling Green in two weeks for the Falcon Invitational on Oct. 17 at 4:30 p.m.
