BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University women's golf head coach Stephanie Young has announced that Jennifer Blanchard, Susannah Grunden and Amy Ruthenberg will join the Falcon golf team in time for the 2009-10 academic year.
"We are very excited about this recruiting class," said BGSU head coach Stephanie Young. "As a whole, they bring an impressive mix of experience, talent, and enthusiasm to help take our team to the next level. This class is the result of a lot of hard work and dedication to finding the type of players we need to push our program forward. I must give credit to having the opportunity to work with Carley Hrusovsky for being able to cover as much ground as we did and sign this exceptional group. Overall, I believe that each one of these players has an opportunity to make a real impact on our program"

"Jennifer knows what it takes to be successful and how to win coming off a HS State Championship with her team," said Young. "She is a very disciplined and determined individual which is going to translate into success- in the classroom and on the golf course- here at BG."
"I am really excited to see her game improve and mature as she enters college competition," said assistant coach Carley Hrusovsky. "Jen is an exceptional young woman and possesses all the tools to help our team be successful."
Grunden, a native of Krum, Texas, is a senior at Denton Calvary Academy will complete her senior golf season this spring. Grunden is currently ranked 14th in the state and 200th overall for the 2009 graduating class according to the Junior Golf Scoreboard. She finished eighth at the Texas Junior Golf Tour's "Red River Challenge with a 36-hole score of 147 (73-74).
"Susannah has national tournament experience and has seen what it takes to succeed against top competition," said Young. "Her work ethic and fundamentals are impressive and I expect Grunden to have great success here as a Falcon."
"Susannah is the type of player that will go out every round and leave it all on the course," said Hrusovsky. "I am thrilled to have her join the Falcon Family"

"Amy is a true competitor," said Young. "She comes in with a proven junior record, solid mechanics and short game, and knows how to manage her way around the golf course. Amy understands the vision of where we want to take our program and is ready to take on the challenge to make it happen."
"Ruthenberg's strong finish at the state tournament proves that she can thrive under pressure and come out on top," said Hrusovsky. "I'm confident that her relentless and persistent mentality will make her a successful college athlete and great addition to the team."
