Selected Falcons Compete At Oiler Open

FINDLAY, Ohio - Five Falcons competed at the Oiler Open this weekend as the Bowling Green State University track and field team kicked off the indoor campaign. TaKarra Dunning (shot put) and Whitney Hartman (weight throw) each took home top honors in their event.
Dunning finished first in the weight throw with a mark of 14.73 meters (48-04), three feet farther than her nearest competitor. Hartman was not far off the pace, finishing fifth with a throw of 13.12 meters (43-00.50). Katie Manocchio also competed in the shot put, finishing with a mark of 10.38 meters (34-00.75).
In the weight throw Hartman walked away with top honors with a throw of 18.45 meters (60-06.50), outlasting 45 other competitors. Dunning finished 10th with a mark of 15.43 meters (50-07.50), while Stacey Turak (13.67 meters) and Manocchio (12.13 meters) also competed.
The final Falcon competitor was Sabrina Forstein, who finished fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.65 meters (11-11.75).
Up next for the Orange and Brown is the Orange and Brown scrimmage, set to begin on Dec. 12 at 2:30 p.m.
