Falcons Finish T-11th at Marshall Invitational

HUNTINGTON, WV - In the weather shortened Marshall Invitational, the Bowling Green State University men's golf team finished in a tie for 11th, firing a 587 (287-300). Illinois won the tournament with a 554.
The Falcons were led by sophomore Matt Schneider, who fired a two-over par 144, carding back-to-back 72's. Schneider finished in a tie for 23rd.
Senior Jace Walker opened the tournament with a two-under 69 in the first 18 holes, but finished the vent with a 76 to finish in a tie for 28th (145).
Also competing for the Orange and Brown were senior Russell Goodwin (147, T-38th), sophomore John Powers (151, T-67th) and Bryan Mitchell (159, 87th). Senior Trevor Spathelf competed as an individual, which did not allow his scores to count for the team, but he went 72-77 to finish in a tie for 50th.
Up next for the Falcons will be the Rutherford Intercollegiate on April 19-20.
