Kyle Atkinson Becomes Fifth Falcon To Earn Summer All-Star Honors

HAMILTON, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University baseball team was honored with its' fifth summer collegiate league all-star this past week when left-handed pitcher Kyle Atkinson was selected to take part in the 2008 Southwest Ohio All-Star game, as announced by the league's office on Thursday.
Atkinson, who has been playing on the Ohio Heat Baseball Organization's summer college squad this summer, currently sports a 4-0 record with a 3.79 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 26.1 innings of work.
With his selection to the all-star squad, the sophomore to be joins Chris Gacom (Central Illinois Collegiate League), Dusty Hawk (Tar Heel League), Ryan Schlater (Great Lakes League) and Dennis Vaughn (Central Illinois Collegiate League) as other Falcons to earn all-star honors from their respective summer leagues.
The Southwest Ohio All-Star Game will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd at Foundation Field in Hamilton, Ohio.
