BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Goal keepers Paul Shoemaker and Brent Petkus combined to stave off the visiting Vikings of Cleveland State University Sunday afternoon, 0-0. The duo each ended the pre-season match with four saves while facing a total of 17 shots at BGSU's Mickey Cochrane Field.
BGSU's best chance for a score came with less than five-minutes to be played in the second half when freshman Byard Ebling drew CSU's Nick Harpel out of his territory. Ebling's shot would tease the opponents coming within inches of the goal line before a Viking defender was able to negate the attack. Ebling led the Orange and Brown with four shots on the afternoon.
Bowling Green will kick-off the 2008 schedule on the road at the University of South Florida on Aug. 30, 2008. The start time in Tampa, Fla. is set for 7:00 p.m.
