Prochaska, a native of Plain City, Ohio (Jonathan Alder H.S.), averaged 23.0 points and shot over 51 percent from the field as the Falcons split a pair of games on the road last week. BGSU downed Detroit, 64-43, Wednesday night (Dec. 9) before suffering a 70-54 loss to undefeated Saint Bonaventure Saturday afternoon (Dec. 12).
In the Detroit game, Prochaska led all scorers with 25 points, hitting double digits in each half. She then scored 21 points, again a game high, at SBU. Prochaska was 8-of-16 from the field in the first game and 8-of-15 in the latter contest.
Prochaska made five of BGSU's 10 three-point field goals on the week, going 5-for-13 (.385) from long range, and was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free-throw line.
In last week's two games, Prochaska moved up three spots on the BGSU career scoring list. She passed former Falcon greats Jacki Raterman, Melissa Chase and Michelle Shade on that list, and now ranks 14th in BG history with 1,245 points. She is averaging 16.2 points per game in her career, the second-highest average in BG annals.
On the season, Prochaska is averaging 17.2 ppg and 5.9 rebounds per contest to lead the team in both categories.
Prochaska earned this week's MAC P-O-W honor for the East Division. Ball State's Emily Maggert was named the MAC Player of the Week in the West Division.
The Falcons of head coach Curt Miller, 6-3 on the season, take a break for final exams this week before heading back to Western New York this weekend. BGSU will take on Canisius on Saturday (Dec. 19) to begin a stretch of three matches in five days. Then, the Falcons will conclude a season-long five-game road swing with a Monday morning (Dec. 21) matchup at Youngstown State. BGSU will return home to face Appalachian State on Wednesday, Dec. 23.
