Falcons Freaky Friday Match-Up Against Broncos

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Falcons will continue their home stand against Mid-American Conference opponent Western Michigan in a freaky Friday match this Friday, Feb. 13 at 6:00 p.m. The Falcons are undefeated (18-0) against the Broncos at home.
THIS WEEK'S MATCH-UP ON THE MAT

The Falcons host MAC opponent Western Michigan in second meet of their three meet home stand ... the Broncos are currently 1-8 overall and 0-2 in the MAC, after placing fourth at the State of Michigan Classic, behind Michigan, Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan ... the Broncos only victory of the season came against UIC (Jan. 31) 191.875-191.575 ... the Orange and Brown lead the Broncos 23-7-1 in their all-time series ... the Falcons are undefeated, 18-0 at home against the Broncos and have won 12 of the last 15 meetings between the two teams ... the last meeting between the Falcons and Broncos was last year as the Broncos defeated the Falcons, 193.400-193.075.
FALCONS CORRAL BRONCOS AT HOME
On their home turf the Falcons have a long history of corralling the Broncos remaining undefeated at home, 18-0 against Western Michigan. The Falcons look to continue their success at home as they host the Broncos on Friday, Feb. 13 at 6:00 p.m.
FALCONS RECORD SEASON HIGH TEAM SCORE
The Falcons fell to the Kent State Golden Flashes (Feb. 7) despite a season high team score of 192.600, nearly a point higher than their previous season best. The Falcons also recorded six top-three individual finishes against the MAC pre-season favorite.
FILLMORE AND BREWER SET THE BAR HIGH
Amber Brewer and Kasey Fillmore led the Falcon bar line-up to record two of the top-three finishes as they both swung their way to a 9.775 tying for second place (Feb. 7). Brewer's 9.775 was a career best surpassing her previous best of 9.750 set earlier this season. Fillmore tied her career best as her 9.775 was her second consecutive of the season and her second consecutive second place finish on bars. She also matched her career high 9.750 on beam tying for a third place finish.
GUY PICKS UP ANOTHER WIN
Breanne Guy led the beam line-up to BG's highest scoring event as they recorded a season high 48.450 to the Golden Flashes 48.400 (Feb. 7), winning the beam event as a team. Guy posted a career high 9.825 tying for a first place finish on beam. She also recorded a top-three finish on vault landing a 9.750.
KINZER CONTINUES TO SHINE
Freshman Andrea Kinzer continued to shine on the floor exercise for the Falcons as she led BG's line-up (Feb.1) and won her second collegiate event, tying for first place on floor exercise landing a 9.750. She matched her career high on floor, set earlier this in her first collegiate event win at home against Ball State. This is Kinzer's second career event win and second event win on floor. In only four collegiate meets, Kinzer has recorded five top-three finishes between the floor and vault and at least one top-three finish in every meet.
FILLMORE SWINGS TO NEW HEIGHTS
Kasey Fillmore stepped up with three strong performances for the Falcons (Feb. 1) leading the Orange and Brown on bars with a career high 9.775 tying for a second place finish. Fillmore also posted a 9.675 for a fifth place finish on floor and a 9.550 and seventh place finish on beam.
FALCONS AGAINST THE MAC
The Falcons own four of the six all-time series against their MAC opponents. The Falcons lead Ball State (21-12), Eastern Michigan (18-18), Northern Illinois (9-5) and Western Michigan (23-7-1). The only MAC teams to lead the Orange and Brown in their all-time series are Central Michigan (13-21) and Kent State (11-39-1).
FALCONS BUILD A NEW NEST FOR 2009
The Falcon gymnasts have built a new nest in Anderson Arena for all home competitions starting in 2009. This season will be the first time that all home gymnastics meets will be held in Anderson Arena. The Falcons kicked off their home schedule with a 189.575-187.325 win over Ball State (Jan. 18).
