No. 25 Jayhawks Down Falcons

ORLANDO, Florida - The Falcons wrapped up their opening weekend at the UCF-Early Bird Tournament in Orlando, Florida against No. 25 Kansas, where the Jayhawks downed the Falcons, 9-0 in five innings. Sophomore Zada Lines recorded the Falcons only hit of the game with a single up the middle of the infield.
The Falcons couldn't get their offense going like they did earlier in the weekend and the Jayhawks took advantage scoring a run in the first inning, two in the third inning, five in the fourth inning and one in the fifth inning.
BG's lone hit came in the fifth inning as Lines recorded a base hit up the middle ruining Kansas' pitcher Val George's no hitter.
Two other Falcons reached on walks, Hayley Wiemer in the second inning and Melissa West in the fourth inning.
Wiemer picked up the loss for the Falcons now with a 2-2 record on the season.
The Falcons finished the UCF-Early Bird Tournament with a 3-2 record, totaling 28 hits and a .239 batting average on the weekend.
The Falcons now 3-2 on the young season will take the week off before returning to the field on Friday, Feb. 27 against North Dakota State at the Tennessee Classic in Knoxville, Tennessee.
