Cleveland, Ohio - Bowling Green senior forward Nate Miller was named to the 2009 Mid-American Conference All-Tournament Team after leading the Falcons to the semifinal round and breaking his career high. His career-high was 22 points heading into the MAC Tournament but he averaged 24.5 in the two games.
Miller had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds in the team's win over Ohio in the quarterfinals. He had 12 of the team's first 14 points as Bowling Green built an eight-point halftime lead, shot a season-best 61 percent from the floor, and rolled to a 74-61 victory. Miller made 9-of-11 shots in the contest.
Although Bowling Green lost to eventual MAC Tournament champion Akron 63-55 in the semifinals the next night, Miller did his best to lead the team. He scored 25 second-half points, finishing with a new career-high 27 on the game, and made 5-of-8 three-pointers. Miller had never made more than three three-pointers in a game prior to that outing and he added three rebounds and a steal in 35 minutes.
Bowling Green now awaits its fate in the NIT Tournament. The Falcons have clinched an automatic bid to the tournament and will make a postseason appearance for the first time since 2002. The NIT Selection Show will take place at 9 p.m. Sunday night on ESPNU.
