Falcons 13th at Boilermaker Invitational After Day One

The Bowling Green State University men's golf team carded a 36-hole score of 600 (304-296) to sit in 13th at the Boilermaker Invitational, hosted by Purdue University.
The 18-team field is led by Penn State (569), followed by Illinois (571), Iowa (573), Eastern Michigan (581) and Miami (583) to round out the top five.
The Falcons were led by John Powers, who carded a 149 (73-76). The junior from Bowling Green, Ohio, is currently tie for 38th among the 93-player field.
Bryan Mitchell had his best performance of the spring, firing a 149 (75-74). The sophomore currently sits tied with Powers in 38th.
Freshman Drew Preston opened with an 80, but shot 71 in round two, the Falcons' lowest score of the day. Preston sits in a tie for 57th.
Rounding out the Falcon scorers were Matt Schneider (77-75--152, T-61st) and Parker Hewit (79-77--156, T-77th).
BGSU and the rest of the field will conclude the tournament on Sunday morning.
