BGSU Summer Baseball Camps Scheduled For Two Weeks In June

The Bowling Green State University baseball program, under head coach Danny Schmitz, has announced the dates for their annual summer baseball camps.
The first camp, a baseball fundamental camp, is for players between the ages of 7-14. It will cover detailed instruction on all baseball fundamentals, including proper throwing and catching technique and proper technique for fielding ground balls and fly balls. The camp will be held June 8-10 between 9 a.m. and noon at Steller Field and the Meserve Softball Field. Cost of the camp is $90.
The second camp will be conducted the following week, June 15-17, and is the hitting camp for players between the ages of 7-18. This camp will provide instruction on the proper hitting form and technique taught by the BGSU coaching staff. This camp will also be conducted between 9 a.m. and noon at Steller Field and the Meserve Softball Field. Cost for the hitting camp is $90.
Anyone interested in attending both camps can do so for a cost of $150.
All sessions of the camps will be conducted by Schmitz, his assistant coaches and members of the BGSU team. Schmitz, who became only the fifth coach in Mid-American Conference history to reach the 500-win milestone in 2009, will be joined by assistant coaches Rick Blanc, the BGSU pitching coach, and Spencer Schmitz, the BGSU hitting coach.
Under Schmitz, the BGSU baseball program has won three regular season MAC titles, five divisional titles, two MAC tournament championships and the NCAA Tournament berth that goes with winning the tournament and the Falcons have made the league tournament field eight times. Schmitz is in his 19th season as the head coach at BGSU. He helped two teams at Eastern Michigan make it to the College World Series as a player before being drafted by the New York Yankees and playing eight years of professional baseball.
