The Falcon women's basketball team finished the 2008-09 campaign with an overall mark of 29-5 and a 15-1 Mid-American Conference record. BGSU won the MAC regular-season title for the fifth consecutive year, and the total of 29 victories was the second highest in both school and conference history.
The Falcons advanced to national postseason play, also for the fifth consecutive year, making it to the third round of the WNIT. A total of 10 letterwinners from that team are slated to return in 2009-10.
