Costa Rica: Day 4
August 16, 2009 | Women's Basketball
Hola from Costa Rica! Saturday (Aug. 15) was yet another enjoyable day for the BGSU women's basketball team. The group split up by gender -- not by design, mind you; it just turned out that way. While the three male members of the travel party stayed at the hotel and took advantage of the pool and the workout facilities -- no, really, it's true -- the Falcon females headed to the beach for the day.

The players hung out oceanside, enjoyed lunch right on the beach and even saw some crocodiles during the trip! It's probably good that a certain head coach did not make the trip, as he has been having "Final Destination" types of visions about crocodiles for several months now.
It was a tired but happy group of Falcons that returned to the hotel Saturday evening after a long day at the beach. After a quick dinner across the street, the sun-drenched group wearily headed ack to the Real InterContinental Hotel to turn in early.
And, that's a good thing, because the wake-up calls will come early on Sunday morning, with a 7:15 pregame meal. It's back to business on Sunday, as the BGSU players will harken back to their AAU playing days for a good old-fashioned doubleheader. The Falcons will take the court twice at Liceo (the same gym where the team played on Thursday), as part of what is at least a quadruple-header on Sunday. The Bethune-Cookman and IUPUI men's teams each have a game scheduled at the facility tomorrow as well. Check back late Sunday for an update on how the Falcons fared in their two games.
Also, Falcon fans, assistant coach Brandi Poole has posted an update on the team's blog, togetherweattack.com. Be sure to check it out!
