Tip-Off Dinner Kicks Off 2010-11 Basketball Seasons

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University Athletics Department held the fourth annual Tip-Off Dinner Thursday night to usher in the 2010-11 men's and women's basketball seasons. The season will be the final one in Anderson Arena and the department is in the midst of a year-long celebration called "Closing The Doors Of The House That Roars."
Athletics Director Greg Christopher gave attendees a sneak peak of the men's and women's All-Anderson Teams, the 13 best players in each program during the Anderson Arena era. The teams will be released to the public Friday on BGSUFalcons.com. The women's team will be honored Feb. 5 and the men's team will be honored for the squad's final home game on either March 4 or 5.
Men's basketball coach Louis Orr and the rest of the coaching staff introduced the men's team and its three seniors -- Mike Dabney, Joe Jakubowski, and Wiley Roberts. Jakubowski then followed with brief comments.
Women's basektball coach Curt Miller and the rest of the coaching staff introduced the women's team and its six seniors -- Chelsea Albert, Maggie Hennegan, Tracy Pontius, Lauren Prochaska, Jen Uhl, and Kelly Zuercher. Prochaska then addressed the crowd with brief comments as well.
The women's basketball team opens the final season in Anderson Arena with an exhibition game against Findlay at home on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. The men's basketball team will host an exhibition game against Adrian on Nov. 6 at 2 p.m.
