Happy holidays from Katelyn Turner and the rest of the women's soccer Falcons
Women's Soccer Team Celebrates the Holidays, Gives Back to the Community

Falcons have been very active in December
The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team has been very busy in the month of December. In addition to wrapping up fall semester classes and taking final exams, the team members held their annual holiday party and also took some time to give back to the community. Let's let them tell their story ...

Keeping with tradition during this time of year, the BGSU Women's Soccer team recently gathered for their annual Holiday party at Santa's house, a.k.a. Coach Richards residence. The event is arguably the most fun team gathering each year, and this year did not disappoint!
There was an appearance by a Christmas tree (Emily Rothwell, decked out in lights and all!), a Christmas present (Katelyn Turner donned a wrapped box), and a dozen or so ugly Christmas sweaters, (Amanda Nelson—did you raid your grandmother's closet?!?). With Holiday music lingering in the background, the team enjoyed a great meal and then took part in a gift exchange. This year, each person was asked to explain to the gift receiver why she chose the gift that she did. There were many gifts related to the apparent need to make the locker room smell better, as perfume, lotion, and soaps were given as gifts quite a few times. Trainer Mike Howell cleverly gave some first aid items as his gift so that he could rest assured that whoever received his gift would be safe and sound during the Holidays in case they needed any “treatment”. Other popular gifts were food gift cards—no surprise there, this team likes to eat! (Healthy items though, right?!) and fuzzy blankets to use to keep warm over the winter season.
The team would like to wish everyone a very happy, and safe, holiday season! We look forward to spending time with family and friends over break…and to getting into our Spring season when we return!
The women's soccer Falcons also recently gave a clothing donation to the First Presbyterian Church of Bowling Green. The team wanted to give back to the community during the giving season, and thought what better way to do this than to donate clothing to those in need. 100% of the clothing donations collected by the Women's Soccer team will go toward helping immediate members of the Bowling Green community.
Happy holidays and, as always, Roll Along!
