Prochaska, a native of Plain City, Ohio (Jonathan Alder H.S.), averaged 26.0 points per game as the Falcons went 2-0 last week. She scored a season-high 31 points in BGSU's 79-68 win over 23rd-ranked Vanderbilt on Wednesday night (Dec. 1), then had 21 points in only 26 minutes in a 91-51 victory against Cal State Fullerton.
In addition to the 31 points, Prochaska tied her career high with six assists vs. Vanderbilt, and added five rebounds. She hit five three-point field goals in that win, her highest total of the season and just one off her career best, and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line.
In the Fullerton game, Prochaska was 6-of-8 from the field and 8-of-8 from the stripe, adding four rebounds and a game-high four steals.
Also in that Cal State Fullerton contest, Prochaska increased her streak of consecutive free throws made to 61, a new MAC record. She broke her own school record of 45 in the Vanderbilt game, and topped the MAC mark (57, Jody Beerman, Central Michigan, 1986-87) in the Fullerton contest. Prochaska is just five free throws shy of matching the NCAA Division-I record.
On the week, Prochaska averaged 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals, leading the Falcons in the latter category. She shot 58.3 percent from the field in the two games, including a 6-of-11 (54.5%) effort from three-point land. And -- obviously -- she was perfect from the free-throw line, going 18-for-18.
On the year, Prochaska is averaging 20.3 points and 6.9 rebounds this year, leading the Falcons in both categories. She also leads BGSU in steals (2.1 spg) and is second in both assists (2.9 apg) and blocked shots (0.8 bpg). Prochaska is second in the nation in FT percentage, having made 69-of-70 free throws this year to date (98.6%).
Prochaska earned this week's MAC Player-of-the-Week honor for the East Division, while Shonda Long of Central Michigan was named the MAC P-O-W in the West.
The Falcons of head coach Curt Miller, 8-1 overall, hit the road for a pair of games this week. BGSU will face Western Kentucky on Thursday (Dec. 9) before continuing on to Austin Peay for a Saturday (Dec. 11) contest.
