The Falcons, 8-1 on the season and riding an eight-game win streak, were rated fifth in the initial poll, which is in its first season. Green Bay, 8-0 on the season with three wins over Big Ten Conference foes, holds down first place in the Mid-Major poll. Green Bay garnered 30 of the 31 first-place votes, with BGSU receiving one.
Five of the Falcons' 2010-11 opponents are ranked in the top 25. That list includes Creighton (14th), UALR (15th), Central Michigan (22nd), Toledo (24th) and Kent State (25th). Two other BGSU opponents, Oakland and Northern Illinois, are receiving votes in this week's poll.
