Baseball Coach Reunion in Florida Cancelled Due to Weather
March 12, 2010 | Baseball
Bowling Green State University baseball will get an extra day of rest at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational tournament after inclement weather in Winter Haven, Flor. has canceled play for Friday. The Falcons were slated to play North Dakota State University at 12:30 p.m. ET.
This is the second cancellation for the Falcons this tournament after yesterday's nightcap of a doubleheader with Yale was called off and game one was shortened due to excessive rains. Game one resulted in a 7-7 tie after five innings. Neither game will be rescheduled.
Friday's game would have been a reunion between the Falcons and its former assistant coach and current NDSU head coach, Tod Brown. Brown was with the Falcons as their pitching coach and recruitment coordinator for eight years (2000-2007). In his third season with the Bison, he is currently 33-65 overall.
Bowling Green has one game remaining to be played on Saturday with the Indiana Hoosiers. Game time is set for 9:30 a.m., weather permitting, and can be followed through the IU Gametracker found on BGSUFalcons.com. Saturday's forecast calls for sunny skies and a high of 70 degrees with a start time temperature of 63 degrees.
