CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Following the conclusion of the 2010 Mid-American Conference Tournament, ten players from four teams were honored as a part of this year's MAC All-Tournament team. On that list was one Bowling Green Falcon. On Saturday evening, Dennis Vaughn was honored as a member of that elite list of players.
Vaughn finished the tournament with a .400 batting average, going 8-for-20 in five games. He had six RBI, fourth-most among those playing in the tournament. His best game came in Bowling Green's 7-3 victory over Central Michigan in their second game on May 28 when he went 3-for-3 and was part of a home run tandem that hit back-to-back solo round-trippers in the win.
Vaughn helped the Falcons to their longest stay in the Mid-American Conference Tournament in the last three seasons, advancing to the semi-final round before losing to Central Michigan, 9-8, in the final inning this morning's match up. The Falcons finished the 2010 season with an overall record of 31-23-1 and a MAC ledger of 18-9. He is part of a nine-man senior class that has led Bowling Green to three consecutive MAC East titles, a feat never accomplished in BGSU baseball history.
