Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University Falcon Club held the first Summer Shindig Friday evening, a casual party for Falcon Club members to get together with BGSU's coaches and staff. More than 240 people were in attendance for the event.
The band Johnny Rocker and the Hitmen entertained the crowd in the Sebo Center parking lot with popular songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's until approximately 11:00 p.m. There were raffles and many local businesses helped to make the event a success.
A few baskets were raffled off and the spa basket, entertainment basket, and BGSU basket were gathered and arranged by Karen Merrels and Cindy Cowles. The Coaches' Wet Your Whistle basket contained items donated by BGSU's head coaches and included interesting stories and anecdotes.
Bostdorff Greenhouse Acres donated plants and flowers, Learfield and Falcon Sports Properties sponsored the band, and Cobra Equipment/Tim York provided generators. Food and drink sponsors were Heidelberg Distributing, Fricker's, Tim Horton's, DiBenedetto's Italian Bistro, Mr. Spot's, Subway, and The Cookie Jar.
