Former BGSU Athletic Department Employees Invited To Special Reunion
September 17, 2010 | General
Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University Department of Athletics is hosting a special Homecoming reunion for former employees on Friday, Oct. 1. As part of BGSU's Centennial Homecoming celebration, the event is designed to recognize the many people who have played a key role in the first century of athletics at the University.
“We have been searching employment records to identify all former staff, coaches and administrators and have sent more than 300 invitations to an event we think will be a great time for everyone,” Jim Lessig, former athletic director (1978-82) and chair of the planning committee, said. “If there are former employees who have not received an invitation, we want them to know they are welcome and to contact the athletic department to make a reservation.”
The main event will be a 5 p.m. reception at Anderson Arena Friday (Oct. 1) and will feature an exhibit of Bowling Green's athletic memorabilia, arranged by Mickey Cochrane, athletics archivist. The reception will take the form of a Falcon tailgate gathering with plenty of food available.
Prior to the Homecoming football game with Buffalo on Saturday (Oct. 2), there will be a hospitality tent for reunion attendees and others who wish to attend.
Cost of the reception is $25 and game tickets are $10. To make a reservation or to answer questions, call 419-372-2401.
