Thomas, Christman Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's basketball player Scott Thomas and gymnast Dawn Christman.
Male Athlete of the Week
Scott Thomas, a junior from Ashley, Ohio, posted his sixth career double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds in Bowling Green's 74-71 double overtime road win at Buffalo to open Mid-American Conference play. Thomas was 8-of-12 shooting and made 1-of-2 three-pointers as the Falcons fought back from a six-point halftime deficit, adding three assists, two steals, and a blocked shot.
Female Athlete of the Week
Dawn Christman, a junior from Pottstown, Pa., finished first in the all-around with a score of 38.425 to help the Bowling Green gymnastics team defeat Illinois-Chicago 190.225-185.525 in the season opener Sunday. She finished first on the floor (9.775), second on the vault (9.775), third on the beam (9.425) and sixth on the bars (9.450). Her all-around score was a career-best.
