Thomas, Prochaska Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's basketball player Scott Thomas and women's basketball player Lauren Prochaska.
Male Athlete of the Week
Scott Thomas, a junior from Ashley, Ohio, averaged 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game, shooting 52 percent from the field and 42 percent from three-point range. In a win over Ohio, Thomas was one rebound shy of a double-double, finishing with 19 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals. In a loss at Akron Saturday, he finished with 14 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Female Athlete of the Week
Lauren Prochaska, a senior from Plain City, Ohio, averaged 23.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game as BGSU defeated Buffalo and Central Michigan. She made 5-of-11 three-pointers and was a perfect 19-of-19 from the free-throw line. Prochaska posted her fifth 30-point game of her career with exactly 30 points in a win at Buffalo and then scored 16 in the Falcons' home win over Central Michigan. Prochaska is just 41 points shy of tying BGSU's career scoring record.
