Four Falcons Head to ITA Midwest Regionals

Four members of the Bowling Green State University tennis team have qualified for this weekend's ITA Midwest Regional Championships. Juniors Maddy Eccleston and Mary Hill and sophomores Nikki Chiricosta and Emily Reuland all will represent the Falcons at the event, which will be hosted by The Ohio State University.
SINGLES QUALIFYING DRAW - PDF
ITA MIDWEST REGIONAL TOURNAMENT CENTRAL
The tournament will begin on Thursday (Oct. 20) and run through Tuesday (Oct. 25). Matches will be held at the Varsity Tennis Center and/or the Jesse Owens East Recreation Center in Columbus.
Eccleston, Hill and Reuland will represent head coach Penny Dean's team in the singles qualifying draw, which begins Thursday morning. The singles qualifying draw will be held on Thursday and Friday, with those representatives finishing in the top-eight of the qualifying singles draw proceeding on to the main draw, which starts Saturday.
Chiricosta has been placed in the singles main draw, which begins Saturday (Oct. 22). All four Falcons will represent the Brown and Orange in the doubles draw, which starts on Friday (Oct. 21). Chiricosta will be teamed up with Eccleston, while BGSU's other doubles duo consists of Hill and Reuland.
Eccleston will face IPFW's Frederique Sunstrum in the singles qualifying draw on Thursday morning, with the winner taking on Maggie Remynse of Western Michigan.
Hill will play Margarita Sadovnikova of Youngstown State in opening-round action on Thursday, with Julia Jamieson of Illinois awaiting the winner.
Reuland meets Eastern Michigan's Marcela Rivero in first-round play on Thursday. The winner will face Kelsey Anonsen of Toledo in the second round.
