The Bowling Green State University tennis team has concluded play at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships in Columbus, Ohio. On Saturday (Oct. 22), Falcon sophomore Nikki Chiricosta participated in the singles main draw at the event, hosted by The Ohio State University.

ITA MIDWEST REGIONAL TOURNAMENT CENTRAL

Chiricosta battled DePaul University's Patricia Fargas to a tiebreaker in the first set of her first match, before falling by a 7-6 (5) result. Fargas went on to post a 6-1 win in the second set to knock Chiricosta into the consolation bracket.

In the consolation round, Chiricosta took on Stacey Lee of Northwestern University. Lee won the first set, 6-2, but the Falcon sophomore bounced back to post a 6-3 victory in set number two. The teams played a 10-point tiebreaker, with Lee winning by a narrow 10-8 margin.

The Falcons now prepare for the final tournament of the fall schedule. BGSU will head to East Lansing, Mich., to participate in the Green and White Invite, hosted by Michigan State University, from Nov. 4-6.
