Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's soccer player Danny Baraldi and volleyball player Ashley Dunn
Male Athlete of the Week
Danny Baraldi, a freshman from Canton, Ohio, had a goal and an assist as the Falcons posted two weekend wins. He had the primary assist on the lone goal in Friday's 1-0 win over IUPUI and then scored just 19 seconds into the second half of Sunday's game against Florida Atlantic. That goal gave BGSU a 2-0 lead and the Falcons went on to win 3-0 in their MAC opener.
Female Athlete of the Week
Ashley Dunn, a sophomore from Bowling Green, Ohio, had at least 15 digs in each of three matches as Bowling Green went 2-1 on the week. Dunn averaged 4.64 digs per set and serve received at a .976 clip. She had 19 digs in a three-set sweep of Wright State and then added 15 without a serve receive error in another three-set sweep, this time against Akron. She finished the weekend with 17 digs in a five-set loss to Buffalo.
