Falcons Shutout By Ferris State 4-0

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio. -- The Bowling Green State University ice hockey team lost 4-0 to Ferris State Friday night, marking the first time this season that the Falcons have been shutout. The Bulldogs scored all of their goals at even-strength, registering four different goal scorers in the contest.
Ferris State senior goaltender Taylor Nelson stopped all 29 shots he faced, giving him his second shutout of the young season, and improving his record to 4-1-0 on the year.
Ferris State registered a goal in every period, including two goals in the final frame to ice the contest for the Bulldogs. Junior Andrew Hammond stopped 25 of 29 shots in the 4-0 loss, marking his fourth straight game of allowing three goals or more.
The last time the Falcons were shutout by a CCHA opponent at home was last January, when Bowling Green lost to conference rival Miami 3-0, behind a nine save effort from Connor Knapp.
The loss evens the Falcons' record to 4-4-1 overall, and 1-4-0 in conference play. The win improves Ferris State's record to 7-2-0 overall, and 3-2-0 in conference play.
The Falcons look to end their four-game losing streak tomorrow night in an encore game against Ferris State. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
