Eccleston captured a crown for the second-straight day, having won a doubles title on Saturday afternoon.
In addition to Eccleston, two other Falcons picked up wins over Big Ten foes on Sunday. In the C Draw, both junior Mary Hill and sophomore Emily Reuland beat opponents from host MSU. And, both players lost only four total games in their straight-sets victories.
Hill downed MSU's Michaela Silesova by a 6-3, 6-1 result. The win was Hill's 10th of the fall. Reuland defeated the Spartans' Julianna Gruber by a 6-1, 6-3 result on Sunday, picking up her 11th singles victory of the season.
Sophomore Nikki Chiricosta also was victorious on Sunday, besting Ball State's Courtney Wild to capture the back-draw title at Flight A. Chiricosta finished the fall with a 9-4 singles mark.
Two juniors lost in the championship match of their respective flights on Sunday. Katie Grubb lost for the first time all season, as Caroline Bauer of Wisconsin eked out a win in three sets, including a third-set tiebreaker, at Flight D. Grubb is now 9-1 in singles play this season.
Jade Johnson, after a semifinal-round win over MSU's Hilary Hager, battled to a third set in her championship match, but eventually fell to the Spartans' Dana Guentert at Flight E. Johnson finishes the fall with a 7-4 singles record.
The Falcons finished the Green and White Invitational with a combined singles record of 12-5. Eccleston went 3-0 on the weekend, while four other Falcons -- Grubb, Hill, Johnson and Reuland -- each were 2-1. Chiricosta was 1-1 as one of her weekend opponents withdrew.
In doubles, the Brown and Orange went 7-2 at the Green and White. Eccleston and Johnson won all three of their matches and captured a championship at Flight C, while the Chiricosta/Hill and Grubb/Reuland duos each advanced to the final of their respective flights before succumbing.
