BGSU Falls to Ball State
The Falcons fell 192.325-187.750 to Ball State on Sunday afternoon in Anderson Arena. It was the final home meet of the season for the Orange and Brown. Despite the loss the Falcons came away with three individual awards on bars, beam and floor.
Fillmore Goes All-Around
Over the past two weeks senior Kasey Fillmore had her best two meets of the season. Two weeks ago versus Eastern Michigan the senior scored a 37.100 in the all-around, winning the individual crown. This past week versus Ball State the senior, on senior day, scored a 38.100 in the all-around, finishing third.
Harrington Balancing Well
Over the past two weeks, freshman Megan Harrington has won the individual crown on the balance beam each week. The freshman scored a 9.450 two weeks ago at EMU and scored a career-best 9.700 versus Ball State this past weekend.
Series With Opponents
Bowling Green is 3-2 versus Iowa and 4-9 versus Kentucky all-time in the series. BGSU has never faced Nebraska. The Falcons faced Iowa last season (L, 193.200-189.925) and last faced Kentucky in 2008 (L, 195.675-191.375).
The House That Roars
The Falcon gymnasts built a new nest in Anderson Arena in 2009 and that continues today. Since moving to Anderson Arena the Falcons are 5-6 inside the “House That Roars”. With volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball moving into the Stroh Center in 2011, Anderson Arena will solely be the home for BGSU gymnastics next season.
Falcons Announce 2011 Captains
BGSU head coach Kerrie Beach has announced that seniors Amber Brewer and Lexi Psichopaidas, along with red-shirt junior Kasey Fillmore and sophomore Danielle Wishart will serve as captains for the 2011 campaign.
Beach Leads BGSU
Head coach Kerrie Beach begins her fourth season at the helm of the BGSU gymnastics program. Last season Beach helped coach the team to a five-match win streak and a 4-2 conference record, both best in nearly a decade. She has an 19-34 overall record and is 9-14 in Mid-American Conference play.
Falcons Picked Sixth In 2011 Preseason Poll
The Mid-American Conference announced the 2001 gymnastics preseason poll on Jan. 4, with the Falcons picked to finish sixth among the seven team field. The poll was voted on the league's head coaches. Kent State was picked to win the league.
