BGSU heads to Eastern Michigan for Saturday showdown
The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team will head north this weekend, taking on Eastern Michigan University on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 12). The trip is the Falcons' shortest (68 miles) of the 2010-11 season, and for the Falcon faithful, joining BG in Ypsilanti couldn't be easier.
The BGSU Athletic Ticket Office has received a block of tickets at a special rate for the game at EMU. Falcon fans can purchase tickets through the BGSU Athletic Ticket Office for just $3 apiece.
Both the Falcons and Eagles are 7-3 in Mid-American Conference play, with BGSU tied atop the MAC's East Division and EMU deadlocked for second in the West. Saturday's cross-divisional game is a key contest for both teams in terms of MAC Tournament seeding.
For BGSU's stellar senior class – Chelsea Albert, Maggie Hennegan, Tracy Pontius, Lauren Prochaska, Jen Uhl and Kelly Zuercher – only six regular-season games remain. The fourth-year Falcons in that group recently became the sixth class in BGSU history, and the fifth in a row, to win 100 career games in their careers.
Tickets for Saturday's game at EMU can be purchased through the BGSU Athletic Ticket Office by phone (877-BGSUTicket) or in person at Anderson Arena. The ticket office is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
TUESDAY (FEB. 8) UPDATE: All fans wearing a red shirt will be admitted free to Saturday's BGSU-EMU game. The EMU Department of Athletics is holding a "Green Goes Red" event, in support of heart disease prevention for women as part of the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Day, which was held on Feb. 4.
