The defending MAC Tournament Champion Kent State Golden Flashes were selected to finish first in the East Division and be the favorite to win the tournament crown, barely edging Central Michigan University. The Chippewas were selected to finish first in the West Division and earned two fewer votes than Kent State to be the favorite in the MAC Tournament.
Bowling Green returns three starters in the field, highlighted by All-Region selection Jon Berti, and one of its weekend rotation starters from a year ago. The Falcons finished 18-9 in the MAC last season and earned their third consecutive MAC East division title, the first time such a streak had ever been accomplished in program history. With its final win over Central Michigan in the MAC Tournament quarter-finals last year, the program achieved its 1,500th win over its 93-year history.
The Brown and Orange open play on Feb. 18 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to play a three-game series against Western Kentucky University. The Falcons will open up their home slate against Indiana State University on March 15.
