Patrick Martin Named MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Falcon outfielder and relief pitcher, Patrick Martin, was named the Mid-American Conference Male Athlete of the Week for the week of March 4. The announcement came from the conference office earlier today.

The redshirt junior from Oregon, Ohio hit a combined 4-for-10 (.400) over his three games played against Murray State last weekend. He ended with three of his four hits being extra-base hits, including two triples. His last at-bat of the weekend was a two-RBI triple that put the Falcons ahead in the seventh inning, 4-2, before the game was called due to weather, awarding the Falcons a victory. He also scored a run and slugged at a .900 clip. He also tossed one scoreless inning of relief in game two of Saturday's doubleheader in a loss.

Martin is a fourth-year, adolescent young-adult education major at the University and holds a 3.80 cumulative grade point average.
