Two Falcons were named to the all-conference teams tonight in Chillicothe, Ohio during pre-tournament ceremonies.
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio -- During the opening ceremonies of the 2011 Mid-American Conference Tournament, two Falcons were named to the all-conference teams for their regular season feats. Jon Berti and Clay Duncan were named to the first and second all-conference teams, respectively, for their season accomplishments. The announcement was made during the tournament opening ceremonies Tuesday night at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Berti and Duncan were among the 30 MAC student-athletes named to one of the All-MAC teams. Berti was named as a First Team utility player and Duncan as a first base second teamer. All twelve teams had at least one representative with Kent State leading the way with seven honorees in addition to housing the MAC Pitcher and Coach of the Year winners.
The junior from Troy, Mich. finished the 2011 season batting a team-high .360 overall -- ranking fifth in the league -- with 62 hits, 26 RBI and scoring 33 runs. He successfully stole 18-of-23 bases on the year and had 15 extra-base hits. He once again tied a school record with six triples on the year, a record he tied last season as well. In MAC play he led the league hitting at a .412 clip, finished fourth in runs scored (24), fifth in total bases (61) tied for first in stolen bases (13) and tops in on base percentage (.483).
Duncan, a Norwalk, Ohio native, finished the season batting .301 overall with ten extra-base hits and led the Falcons with 30 RBI. Perhaps most impressive is that through 47 regular season games, Duncan was flawless in the field by not committing an error in 455 attempts. In conference play the senior tri-captain batted .333, had a share for the team-lead in doubles (6), again led the team in RBI (20) and had slugging and on-base percentages above .400.
For Berti, this is his second straight year being named to the All-MAC First Team after having started the trend last season. The award is Duncan's first of his career. Below is a complete list of MAC award winners, as released by the conference this evening.
