Roos, in her first season at the BGSU helm after 11 years on the staff of Curt Miller, held her team's first practice of the season early Monday morning (Oct. 1). Roos and her staff -- assistant coaches Jesse Fleming, Ali Mann and Emily London and director of operations Monique Rosati -- have nine returning players and four newcomers on the '12-13 roster.
Last year's edition of the Falcons finished with an overall record of 24-7. That team won the Mid-American Conference's East Division title with a 14-2 league mark, capturing a divisional title for the eighth consecutive year and winning the MAC's overall regular-season crown for the seventh time in those eight years. BGSU advanced to national postseason play for the eighth year in a row, participating in the WNIT.
The Falcons' lone exhibition game will be Saturday, Nov. 3, vs. Slippery Rock. The regular season begins one week later, as BGSU hosts Madonna on Saturday, Nov. 10, and the MAC opener is Jan. 10, 2013, against Kent State at the Stroh Center.
