Shea, Pleger Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week
December 10, 2012 | General, Ice Hockey, Women's Track and Field
Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Bobby Shea and track and field athlete Brooke Pleger.

Male Athlete of the Week
Bobby Shea, a senior from Harrison Township, Mich., had his best weekend as a Falcon, recording four assists (two in each contest) as BGSU went 1-0-1 at Alaska. Shea was also plus-5 over the two-game set, recording three blocked shots. His performance marked the third time in his career that he has recorded points in back-to-back games.
Female Athlete of the Week
Brooke Pleger, a redshirt sophomore from Saline, Mich., opened the indoor track and field season by setting a new PR in the weight throw, winning the event at the Eastern Michigan Holiday Invitational with a throw of 59-feet-8.25. Her toss was almost six feet further than her previous best and was better than any weight throw mark by a BGSU student-athlete a year ago.
