After a walk to junior Hannah Fulk, Proehl reached on a bunt single. Both runners stole a base, putting runners at second and third. Junior Andrea Arney singled home Fulk from third before Proehl stole home, giving Bowling Green the 2-0 lead. The Falcons added one more run in the frame, thanks to an RBI double from Fink.
After the offensive flurry in the first inning, the bats remained silent until the top of the fifth, when Titan Sara Cupp belted a three run homer to give Detroit the 4-3 lead.
Bowling Green responded again, scoring three runs on four hits in the bottom of the fifth. Yoho came to the plate with one out and two on, belting a two run double to take back the lead. Fink then singled home Yoho for the final Falcon run of the inning, giving Bowling Green the 6-4 lead.
Freshman Jamie Kertes came into the contest in relief of Imholz, striking out five, and holding the Titans to zero hits for the save.
