Kubuski, Kertes Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player Andrew Kubuski and softball player Jamie Kertes.
Male Athlete of the Week
Andrew Kubuski, a sophomore from Elyria, Ohio, extended his hitting streak to 14 games by going 11-for-19 on the week for a .579 batting average. He drove in five runs and scored three times to help the Falcons earn their first two MAC games of the season, coming back to win the series against Central Michigan. In a midweek game at Michigan State, Kubuski went 4-for-4 with a run and an RBI and posted multiple hits in every game on the week.
Female Athlete of the Week
Jamie Kertes, a freshman from Carnegie, Pa., went 2-0 on the weekend with a 0.00 ERA, allowing 14 hits over 14.2 innings pitched. She had a complete game shutout against Akron and struck out 14 batters in three appearances, which included three in a 1.2 inning save. She helped the Falcons to a 3-1 record in their first weekend of MAC play.
