Kubuski, Berger Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player Andrew Kubuski and softball player Paige Berger.
Male Athlete of the Week
Andrew Kubuski, a sophomore from Elyria, Ohio, went 8-for-16 on the week as Bowling Green took 2-of-3 games over second place Ohio this weekend. In Friday's 4-3 win, he went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. On Sunday, Kubuski reached base seven times during the doubleheader, going 3-for-3 with a walk in the opener and 3-for-5 with a run in the second game. He also gunned down a runner at the plate for his fourth outfield assist of the year.
Female Athlete of the Week
Paige Berger, a junior from Rootstown, Ohio, led the Falcons in nearly every offensive category as the Falcons went 5-1 on the week to remain at the top of the MAC standings. She went 9-for-19 with a .947 slugging percentage and .524 on-base percentage, tallying three doubles, two homers, and eight RBI. Berger also was perfect in the field and stole a base as well.
