June 22, 2012 | General
Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University Athletics Director Greg Christopher has announced that Jermaine Truax has been promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance. Truax has been the Director of Compliance and Certification since arriving at BGSU in July of 2010 and recently received the Rising Star Award by the National Association For Athletics Compliance (NAAC).
“Just as Jermaine's peers recognize him as a rising star, we have seen the positive impact he has made on our department,” Christopher said. “Jermaine does a terrific job with our compliance efforts and will expand his responsibilities by taking on sport administrator duties for gymnastics and coordinating our strategic planning efforts.”
Prior to coming to Bowling Green, Truax was the Director of Compliance at St. Bonaventure University. He was also the Coordinator of Internal Operations at St. Bonaventure and served as a football assistant coach at Alfred State College. Truax played football and received his bachelors degree from Edinboro University and earned his master's degree in sport management from Slippery Rock University in July of 2008.
“I would like to thank Mr. Christopher for this tremendous opportunity,” Truax said. “While compliance remains a focal point, I look forward to my expanding role and the opportunity to positively contribute to the department in additional areas. I would also like to thank Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Services Mark Shook, who has allowed me to flourish in my role as compliance director.”
